She was born Feb. 22, 1920, in the West Union community in Shawnee County, the daughter of Cary W. and Eunice V. Warner Crow. She grew up in the Rossville, Willard and Valencia communities and graduated from Rossville High School. Mrs. Banka had worked at the soda fountain in the Jayhawk Drug Store, and she also worked many years at Washburn University in Topeka. She later carried The Topeka Capital-Journal in the Dover community and was custodian at the Dover Federated Church. She was a member of Dover Federated Church, the Ladies Aid at the church and the Dover Rebekah Lodge. She married Richard J. Sage on Feb. 22, 1941. He died June 8, 1979. She married Andrew Banka on Feb. 14, 1982. He died Sept. 28, 2001. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Sally VanCleave, on Oct. 15, 1990. Survivors include two sons, Richard Dean Sage, Perry, and Larry Sage, Dove r; a daughter, Ada Kay Mitchell, Harveyville; two sisters, Ada Miller, in Texas, and Mildred Page, Rossville; three brothers, Neil Crow and Alvin Crow, both of Dover, and Bryon Crow, Topeka; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dover Federated Church. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery in Dover. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
